Why are social and life skills important?
We believe that integrating life and social skills in the curriculum will have a huge impact when they leave school. Learning essential life and social skills will carry them in all ways of life. Whether they leave and go to college, or get a job, or go to a technical school these skills will help them to be a valuable member of their community and help broaden their motivation to be included in all areas of life.
Weekly we will be cooking together in our school kitchen and cleaning when we are done. School community is key. We provide a safe, loving, and encouraging environment where students can gain the confidence to learn the essential life and social skills.
We will have social and physical activities while incorporating movement breaks and work on appropriate social interactions. Basketball, soccer, and Fun Friday are just some of the fun things we will do each week as a school community.
Service is another part of our school community - giving to others. We can't wait to serve in our local community.

Weekly Culinary Class
Every Friday we shop for and cook a group lunch together. We will follow recipes and learn about new foods. All the elements of the kitchen we go over to give the student more independence with cooking, cleaning, and working in a kitchen with various appliances.
Health and Fitness
Every week our students will learn various healthy living strategies with eating and exercise. We are active and use various sports activities to create fun social times as well as creating movement opportunities.
